Niklas Frielingsdorf

My name is Niklas Frielingsdorf and I have been responsible for the online and social media presence of Yokogawa Deutschland GmbH as Marketing Manager Online since the beginning of April 2018.

My goal is to expand and optimize the still young structures in these areas and to advance Yokogawa through the right marketing and communication measures – nationally and internationally.

As a trained editor, writing is just as much a part of my passions as sports in many facets, as well as good films and series. Even better than with these things, I only spend time with my wife and my sons.

Thomas Schindler

My name is Thomas Schindler and I’m responsible for Industrial Marketing Automation Solutions at Yokogawa Germany. My key fields of action are the Centum VP production control system and the ProSafe RS safety instrumented system. More than two decades of experience in the automation world have taught me that intelligent product concepts are an essential precondition of successful solutions – solutions that help you, our customers, operate your plant sustainably over a long period of time and reap the benefits of innovative technologies. As a Japanese manufacturer, Yokogawa has perfected the art of uniting tradition with modernity. It’s a combination that continues to fascinate me, even after 15 years at Yokogawa.

It’s in the nature of Japanese companies to travel a path once taken together right through to the end – a bit like running a marathon. Several years ago, I too became passionate about pacing myself for that final mile. I’ve meanwhile competed seven times since making my debut in the 2005 Dusseldorf Marathon. If I can make it up to ten, I’ll qualify for a gold bib number – and that’s an honor I’m determined to win!

My name is Werner Worringen. I’m responsible at Yokogawa Germany for Industrial Marketing (IMK) Process Instrumentation, which you could say is all about the eyes and ears in the process. Process instrumentation in all its many facets has been a common thread running through my professional career for more than thirty years now.

My duties here at Yokogawa Germany relate to the development of our analytics business, including associated services. One thing I particularly like about my job is the chance to network with our clients as well as with colleagues both in my own country and internationally.

Literature, music, language – and its playful use – are just a few of my hobbies. The latter is something I enjoy doing both privately and at work, for instance by contributing to this blog. It’s not as dry as a technical specification, for example, and the feedback I receive and the contacts I make are more interesting.

My name is Silke Müller. I’ve been responsible for Data Science at Yokogawa since April 2017.

I already had experience of handling and evaluating large amounts of data before joining Yokogawa. I’m really looking forward to establishing this cutting-edge technology at Yokogawa, optimizing it in cooperation with our customers, sharing ideas and solutions in the blog, and discussing them with you directly.

I spend most of my leisure time with my family. I also enjoy cycling, rummaging around flea markets – where there are so many exciting things just waiting to be discovered – and, if time permits, sewing clothes as a surprise for my children.

Andreas Schamber

My name is Andreas Schamber and I’m a service engineer for the confocal scanner. My principal duty is to make sure all of Yokogawa’s confocal microscopy based systems work as they should do at all times in the field. I deal mainly with CellVoyager 7000S, the high content analysis (HCA) system.

Prior to joining Yokogawa I was employed in technical sales and also as a service engineer in the European region. It all began when I enrolled for a degree course in photonics and laser technology.

When I get home in the evening, I spend most of my time with my wife and my two daughters. I also enjoy reading, discovering new “gems” in the musical universe and watching cinematic masterpieces.

As I see it, a blog is a great way to deepen your knowledge about relevant issues that is more personalized and generally more appealing than traditional forms. It’s also very easy to make contact with the author or with another expert using the comment function. And of course it regularly gives rise to extremely interesting discussions that can provide important new food for thought to many readers.

My name is Peter Exo. I’m 45 years old and I’ve been working at Yokogawa for nineteen years. After leaving school I was keen to start off by doing something practical, so I signed up for an apprenticeship as an energy electronics technician specializing in plant engineering. That was when I had my first contact with applied automation technology in the process industry.

Encouraged by this practical experience in a rugged industrial environment, my mind was made up: I decided to gain a higher qualification in the same area. Four years later, I came away with a degree in electrical engineering, majoring in automation.

Yokogawa offered me a job direct from college, and I kicked off my career in Sales Support. I prepared quotes for projects and provided support to customers. Later on, I was Key Account Manager with responsibility for one of our top clients in the chemical industry. After ten years I opted to switch to an operational role, in which I set up and developed a sales and service center at a customer facility. It was this responsibility for sales, project management, and customer service that motivated me to get involved in after-sales, and for a good five years now I’ve been in charge of our service business in Germany.

Service seems to come naturally to me. If it didn’t, I wouldn’t have spent almost thirty years serving the community as a volunteer firefighter protecting people against fire, water, and other hazards. In what remains of my leisure time I enjoy being in the company of my family and friends or “performing various services” around the house or in the garden.
